The Culcheth Eagles Cubs are open to all boys and girls aged 4 to 6 and we train at Shaw Street in Culcheth. This Sunday we had 17 Cubs that all wanted to learn how to play the great sport of rugby league. The coaches took the kids on a fun warm up including a manic game of tags which taught the kids spatial awareness as they had to move around quickly without losing tags and without bumping into each other.

The Cubs were split into two groups by age and we ran passing and tackling drills. The younger group the coaches focused on helping learn who to catch, pass and tackle correctly whilst the older group did similar drills which were slightly more advanced which helped challenge the children and kept their focus whilst helping their development.

The session was finished off by the ever favorite obstacle course to encourage good ball handling skills, side stepping and keeping on our toes which are all essential rugby skills.
