Leyland got off to a great start scoring early in the game. With the Eagles were looking a bit lethargic once again Leyland went close several times, only for some last ditch defending keeping them out.

Then the Eagles come alive following some good forward drives the ball went to Jack who ran a great angle to score wide out, the kick was converted from the touchline by Kian , who is getting very good at converting the teams trys.

The game now become an end to end affair with both teams going close.

Into the second half and with Leyland stretching the lead the Eagles had it all to do. They tried in vain to get a try, only to see, the full back go the length of the field following a deep kick from Jack to score another try for Leyland

With the Eagles now 16-6 down, they dug deep and played the rugby we all know they can, this led to HJ going over for his usual dummy and dive over. This was converted again from the touchline and we were back in the game.

However Leyland were not finished and got on the score sheet themselves, seeming to put the game out of the Eagles reach, as time was now running out.

The Culcheth forwards once again dug deep and ran the ball in hard and with great support from the backs the last 10 mins were now all Culcheth

Henry got over try line following some good play from the team and Kian once again kicked the goal. Now the score was 20-18 and five minutes to go. The Eagles got near the try line but could not get over then following some rash play from Leyland who tried to kick the ball early, this was charged down and Jack ran for the ball, unfortunately in the process of trying to pick the ball up he knocked on, but the Eagles were now on a roll and Leyland were hanging on.

Into the last minute and Culcheth had the ball, some big drives were to no avail, however a penalty was given. The easy two points were ignored as the team wanted a win. with time almost up the Eagles were stopped inches short of the try line, with every Leyland player a good yard off their line and the markers knees going in at the play the ball, every one expected a penalty to be given but to our suprise he gave a knock on against us and ended the game.
