The Eagles were up against a much improved Blackpool team then the one we faced earlier in the season, however an electric start from newcomer Ben Johnson who scored after 3 mins, showing some electric pace and determination. the conversion was kicked by Jack Evans and the Eagles led 6 - 0.

With the Eagles dominating the early play Toby Powell went in for the Eagles second after 14 minutes and the score was 10 - 0. In the later stages of the first half Blackpool come back into the game and by keeping the ball alive they crashed over to get on the score sheet, making the halftime score Culcheth 10 - 4 Blackpool.

Into the second half and the Eagles slipped back into old ways with a very slow start, allowing Blackpool an early try and goal to level the scores then going in front. 10 - 16.

After chances from both sides Jack Maylor received the ball just on half way and he set off, fending off tacklers on the way and showing great determination managed to get over the line for a great try. With the conversion missed the score was 14 - 16.

The Eagles were now playing the rugby we know they can, with the forwards driving the ball in well, allowing the backs to show their pace, this led to Joe Wilson scoring to get the Eagles in front 18 -16.

But from the kick off Blackpool regained the ball and showing a mixture of skill and good luck kept the ball alive to snatch a try out wide, a great conversion from the touchline put Blackpool in the lead 18 -22.

With time running out the Eagle re grouped and give it all they could, after a succession of penalties, captain Matt Morgan saw a gap and from the tap barged over to get the team back in the game. With he conversion just missing the score was all square 22-22.

With 5 minutes left, the team give it their, Kurtis Barr running strong backed up by the other forwards, but a mixture of bad passes or wrong options being taken the game ended Culcheth 22- 22 Blackpool.
